Lacombe County usually places road bans in March and they typically stay in place until June. However, because the bans are dependent on weather, the period they're in place for can change. The potential for damage and the current condition of the road dictates the percentage of the ban.
Most oil surfaced and asphalt base course roads are banned at 75 percent, but there are some roads that are banned at 50 per cent. While gravel roads are not generally banned, they will be if the conditions warrant the ban.
As road bans are updated regularly, we encourage all parties potentially impacted by the ban to check back often or contact Operations.
