The County Peace Officers operate under the authority of the Peace Officer Act, and enforce provisions of the:
- Traffic Safety Act
- Gaming and Liquor Act,
- Dangerous Goods Transportation and Handling Act
- Animal Protection Act
- Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act
- Forests Act
- Forest and Prairie Protection Act
- Tobacco and Smoking Reduction Act
- Motor Vehicle Transport Act
The primary focus of the Peace Officers is traffic safety and preventing damage to County road infrastructure. The Peace Officers are responsible for:
- Protecting County road infrastructure
- Enforcing traffic infractions on County roads
- Providing information on legislation and County bylaws to industry, as well as the general public
- Providing enforcement services to local communities including Clive, Eckville, Bentley and Alix
- Inspecting properties for the Lacombe County Planning and Development Department
- Providing assistance to the RCMP, Lacombe Police Service, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, Fish and Wildlife, and surrounding Counties when required or during a local disaster
